I was so excited when the eBook version of SOUL SCREAMERS VOLUME FOUR downloaded to my Kindle today. Although I know just as soon as the print copy arrives I’ll probably be a little sad to officially be saying goodbye.

As I’ve rambled about this final volume in the series quite a bit already and as it was my Book Watch post the other week, I won’t ramble on too much now. But I can’t wait until everyone gets to read LAST REQUEST to see if they love it as much as I do. And I’m curious to know whether everyone will end up re-reading the final book in the series once they’ve devoured LAST REQUEST.

It’s hard to believe that after all these years I’m going to have to officially say goodbye to Kaylee, Tod, Nash, Sabine and Emma. Though I still am holding out hope for a someday maybe short about either Avari or Ira which has cameos with those not belonging to the Netherworld.

Description…

Saving the world has never come easy— and Kaylee Cavanaugh’s died to prove it…

The final collection of New York Times bestselling author Rachel Vincent’s Soul Screamers series is packed with emotion, with intrigue, with secrets,  with family—and above all, with love.

Don’t miss  WITH ALL MY SOUL, FEARLESS, NIEDERWALD and a brand-new novella, LAST REQUEST.

Wanderers

AddtoGoodreads

WANDERERS by Susan Kim and Laurence Klavan releases in the U.S. today, March 25, 2014, in hardcover, audio and eBook formats. It is currently available to order online in all formats at AMAZON and BARNES & NOBLE.

Published by HarperTeen, the print edition is 368 pages.

WANDERERS is the second book in the Wasteland series. No information is yet available on the third book in the trilogy.

divider2

I am a little bit behind on this series. I started reading WASTELAND when I first got my hands on a copy but wasn’t able to get the chance to read more than the first few pages due to other reading commitments. But now that I have WANDERERS, the second installment in this series, I’m anxious to get caught up.

As I haven’t read the first book and haven’t yet gotten the chance to learn about the Variants, to visit Prin and to meet Esther and Caleb, I refuse to take a peek at the description for this sequel. So I don’t know whether they’re winning the battle for Prin’s freedom. I don’t know what the secrets are and whose shady pasts are revealed. And I don’t want any of that spoiled by reading book two’s description.

So while I have this sequel residing on my Kindle today, it will be at least a few more weeks before I can dive into both books in this series. But as this series sounds awesome and the few pages I did read of WASTELAND piqued my interest, I just had to pre-order WANDERERS and am stoked that I have two books in the series that I can read back-to-back (hopefully) in April.

Description…

The Emmy Award-nominee and Edgar Award-winning duo bring readers back to the Wasteland in this thrilling sequel.

Karin Slaughter, bestselling author of Criminal, called Wasteland, “A Lord of the Flies for future generations. An irresistible page-turner.”

The former citizens of Prin are running out of time. The Source has been destroyed, so food is scarcer than ever. Tensions are rising…and then an earthquake hits.

So Esther and Caleb hit the road, leading a ragtag caravan. Their destination? A mythical city where they hope to find food and shelter – not to mention a way to make it past age nineteen.

On the way, alliances and romances blossom and fracture. Esther must rally to take charge with the help of a blind guide, Aras. He seems unbelievably cruel, but not everything is as it seems in the Wasteland.…

In this sequel to Wasteland, the stakes are even higher for Esther, Caleb, and the rest of their clan. They’re pinning all their hopes on the road…but what if it’s the most dangerous place of all?

Seventeen-year-old Stella Hamilton is the star blazing at the heart of Temperley High. Leader of the maliciously exclusive elite, she is envied and lusted after in equal measure. And in the Hamilton tradition, she is in the final stage of a six-year campaign to achieve her destiny: love with her equally popular male equivalent, and a triumphant election to Head Girl.

Caitlin Clarke has lived a quietly conformist life in New York City – until, with the collapse of her parents’ marriage, she’s sent across the Atlantic for a strict English boarding school education. As soon as she arrives at Temperley, she learns that the only important rules are the unwritten ones. The upper echelons of her new society are marked not by neat dresses and Kate Middleton hair, but by skinny jeans, cigarettes and scars.  It’s a world of the beautiful and the dangerous, and acceptance means staying on the right side of the most beautiful and dangerous of them all.

As Caitlin’s popularity grows, she discovers that not everyone is happy under Stella’s rule – that it might finally be time for a new order among the Stars and the civilians. Fighting the system, however, means Caitlin must tread the same dark path as Stella, where absolute power and absolute destruction are only a breath away . . .

Cracks in the KingdomCRACKS IN THE KINGDOM (The Colors of Madeleine #2) by Jaclyn Moriarty

Pub. Date: March 25, 2014

Publisher: Arthur A. Levine Books

Find it: AMAZON BARNES & NOBLE

Description:

The second in Jaclyn Moriarty’s brilliant, acclaimed fantasy trilogy, THE COLORS OF MADELEINE!

Princess Ko’s been bluffing about the mysterious absence of her father, desperately trying to keep the government running on her own. But if she can’t get him back in a matter of weeks, the consequence may be a devastating war. So under the guise of a publicity stunt she gathers a group of teens — each with a special ability — from across the kingdom to crack the unsolvable case of the missing royals of Cello.

Chief among these is farm-boy heartthrob Elliot Baranski, more determined than ever to find his own father. And with the royal family trapped in the World with no memory of their former lives, Elliot’s value to the Alliance is clear: He’s the only one with a connection to the World, through his forbidden communications with Madeleine.

Through notes, letters, and late nights, Elliot and Madeleine must find a way to travel across worlds and bring missing loved ones home. The stakes are high, and the writing by turns hilarious and suspenseful, as only Jaclyn Moriarty can be.

I’m happy for another quiet week for releases. But I’ve looked at what’s coming in the next couple of weeks and it’s insane. So it’s just a short reprieve. And last week I missed the release for STARLING by Fiona Paul, so was totally happily surprised when that final book in the series downloaded on Thursday.

I am a little teary-eyed about SSV4’s release, knowing that this is really THE END. But at the same time it just means that I can look ahead to more of the awesome that is Author Rachel Vincent’s writing and get to love her new characters, some of whom I already met.

Anyway… I know I’m just a little bit late with this post – I’d planned on posting it yesterday, but the day kind of got away from me – but I figured it’s not too late to wish all these books (and authors) a happy book birthday and share my excitement for these just released titles.

And while I only have the two novels pre-ordered and living on my Kindle, I am very much interested in NEARLY GONE and SILVER, so I might be adding those two books to my collection before the day is through. We shall see….

As always, happy bookish acquiring and to those with a book releasing…

Happy release week!

As always, I would love to hear what you’re hoping to add to your collection this week!
